SUBARU IMPREZA SALOON 2000-2003

If you're looking for a strong reliable car that you can do the weekly shop in, do the daily run-about's with and then take out for a hard blast without burning a hole in your pocket. Then this is a car you should seriously consider! I do the best part of 100 miles a day and can say this car keeps up with all the day to day struggles from commuting to and from glorious London. The seats are comfortable over distance and there is more than enough room in the back and boot for a good bit of travelling. The "boxer" engine is a strong and reliable power-plant and the 4 wheel drive is very smooth. The standard suspension is a bit on the soft side for my liking however someone that often finds themselves travelling over speed bump ridden areas or off-road in some manner will enjoy the soft comfortable ride! If you enjoy working on your own car then please note, this is like most Japanese cars and has lots of fiddly plastic clips, and as it is an older model expect to see some surface rust developing around wheel arches. Tasks such as changing auxiliary belts can be done simply enough so long as you don't mind putting some force behind what you're doing. Gearboxes and clutch changes: if you want to do it yourself then be prepared to spend a day, or maybe even two if you only have jacks with jack-stands or ramps to hold the car up on. The underside of the car itself is very robust and my particular car has 110,000 miles and has just minor surface rust that I have simply removed away with a wire brush and sealed it again. I would seriously suggest listening to the car while it's running before you purchase it, not for engine noises so much as they are fairly rare. But listen to the underside of the car (lay on the floor if need be) as the factory fitted exhaust systems deteriorate quite badly if not looked after, as mine was when I purchased it. If like me you're only going to run a full stainless steel system from front to back then don't worry about it, but if you're wanting this for a simply daily driver, then check for leaks around the flanges and around the hanging points on the centre pipe and around the catalytic converter as these are the weak points. You can easily cover 250 miles on a tank of fuel (I use bp ultimate only) and that's with a mixture of motorway and town driving, with plenty of traffic to go with it. I spent a long time debating which car to go for, judging between the ever popular 3 series BMW and the slightly more modern Nissan Juke, with a variety of other cars chucked into the mix. But the Subaru came out on top. Petrol heads love Subaru's, and everyone loves a reliable car. Some people may not share my opinion, but if you want a 4 wheel drive car with plenty of grunt and a good platform to learn more about the world of cars, Subaru is the way.

For a very fast head turning car you couldn't get better. The flat four burble is superb and with all wheel drive the power and traction is unbeatable

SUBARU IMPREZA SALOON 2000-2003

In my opinion one of the best looking imprezas around. I've owned three Impreza's over the last few years and this one has been the best to own. The 6 speed box means when you just want to cruise along the mpg is pretty good considering the 2 litre turbo engine. Mine is completely standard apart from the prodrive performance package. It pulls like a train and never fails to put a smile on your face. As far a practicality 4 door and a big boot make it great as a family car. The ride is a touch harsh but that is to be expected. Servicing is also a bit pricey but it's well worth it when you look at the big picture. If you ever have the chance to own a standard one of these cars grab it with both hands. Even 11 years after it rolled off the production line my obsidian black Sti still turns heads where ever it goes!

Fantastic machine - a bit pricey to run

SUBARU IMPREZA SALOON 2000-2003

I love this car, it is one of the most amazing cars to drive in terms of a real feeling that you get from behind the wheel. No traction control interrupting you and ruining the experience, just an amazing 4 wheel drive system and a fantastically powerful engine (despite a huge turbo lag). Handles supremely well and is actually very comfortable on long journeys. It has 4 doors, 5 usable seats and a huge boot. The only word of caution I will inject is that it drinks fuel and eats front brake pads, but other than that you will love it, really research your car first though so you know what your buying.

This is a great car, that's fun to drive, sticks to the road like glue, great family car, repair bills can be a little high, but after all it is a affordable performance car, that turns heads, and even after the roughest of days , this car will never fail to put a smile on your face😃 I can not see me ever driving anything other than a Subaru wrx sti

SUBARU IMPREZA SALOON 2000-2003

My 2006 WRX STI UK Model in blue, is the best car i have ever had, 44 years driving experience ''male''. It gives you bags of confidence, With with the 4 wheel multi link wheel drive, with incredible stopping power, and never losing traction. With 4 doors it's a great family car, for holidays away ect. The interior is well made just like the rest of the car,the seats are snug and comfy. There is nothing flash inside the car to take your attention off driving, unlike the outside with the big air intake and rear wing. You just can't get better! for the money.

SUBARU IMPREZA SALOON 2000-2003

Great all round car. Sti Tuned 340bhp. Serious acceleration and grip. 6 years owned no major problems, serviced religiously. Some parts hard to source but labour time on jobs extremely reasonable for type of car. Upgraded brakes felt necessary and give more confidence at high speed.
