MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS DIESEL SALOON 2002-2006

Extremely comfortable. The aluminium body means it should last a very long time. Starts first time. Great acceleration. Nicest car I have owned.

Exceptional quality in a robust, safe and stylish package

MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS DIESEL SALOON 2002-2006

The Mercedes E Class CDi saloon has always been a reliable workhorse, with a slew of features that tend to elevate it above its competition. The E320i Diesel Avantgarde model, with its sporty pretensions and 7 speed Triptronic automatic gearbox, provides plenty of torque at low speeds and excellent acceleration if you need it. Build quality is, as you would expect at this level, top notch with an attention to internal detailing which is second to none. Whether driving on motorways (where it wafts along without breaking sweat) or attacking the bends in country lanes, you always feel under control and safe, both desirable qualities in a car of this weight. Insurance costs on the older models (the model reviewed is a late 2005 release) are surprisingly cheap if you have an accident free history and overall running costs are also relatively low. Fuel economy is excellent, with a consistent 53mpg achievable on steady motorway runs, incredible economy for a car of this size. Interior trim is equally first class, and you feel that no expense has been spared as you look through the windscreen and down the bonnet to that three-pointed star. A desirable car then, and remains so even a decade after this model was introduced.

Best car i've ever owned

MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS DIESEL SALOON 2002-2006

This car is almost 15 years old, about 80000 miles and drives like new. Bodywork and interior are both very very clean. I love this car - e220 cdi elegance - rm limousine.
