LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

Big comfy car,sit nice and high great driving postition plenty of power when needed, get better mpg in the summer when the battery's are warm being a hybrid short runs can be down 90% on battery if under a mile if light on throttle, overall average mpg has been 28 mpg in the winter months and 32mpg during the summer, towing the caravan which was a 1500k 4 berth I averaged 18mpg so not so good there, but have to say it's a lovely car to drive and be driven in.

Best 4wd I've owned

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

Faultless car. Bit heavy on tyres and brakes but it's a big motor so no surprise there. Biggest complaint is the rubbish alloy wheels that corrode - bad move Lexus - spoils the otherwise good looks. Would I buy another one ? - absolutely yes.

RX400h

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

Bought as Lexus approved 18 months ago. Good bits: comfortable, mechanically reliable, good ice, loads of space, courteous dealers. Bad bits: Horrendous depreciation (£7000 in 18 months), not as good on fuel as expected (getting around 22mpg urban, 35 motorway). Water leak which stains the rh rear loadspace panel (dealer failed to fix 3 times), squeaks from door seals, rattles from rear load area, droning from regenerative system on over run, wiper motor squeak, losing led's on rear lamps. Overall a bit dissapointing as my first Lexus experience. Back to Jaguar i think.

Quick and comfortable, very noisy when accelerating, well laid out controls, excellent seats, big boot space, not cheap to run but that goes with the territory.

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

Lexus is a great manufacturer to buy any car from as the after sales service is second to none. The RX is a great family car and the boot can take 4 sets golf clubs for a boys day out.

Lovely Car - just doesnt get old gracefully

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

When the car ages - some parts fail sooner than they should which are very expensive, and the charges at a Lexus Garage are high. Best to sell it before it gets older than 8 years.

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

Big luxury car, very nice to drive and be driven in,not the best looking out side have to say,I have averaged over the course of the year with about the same amount of mileage around town and motor way just over 30 mpg which for a 3.3 petrol engine + the electric I think is not to sad,Now we have got rid of the caravan and there is just the two of us it would make sense to get a smaller more economical car,but you know we don't want too,it's to nice to drive.

Wouldn't have any other car

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

Quality build and very reliable. Just had to change the battery, still had the original one, 11 years old. Once you have a Lexus you will never want any other car. Bit of a status as well. Good reputation. parts are expensive but you don't need them very often.

RX400 18 months in

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

Depreciation as an approved used vehicle is horrendous. £13000 to £4750 in 18 months and only 6k miles (recent main dealer quote against a£18k RX450). Trust in the reliability and buy private with service history. Not a frugal as I imagined - approx 24mpg urban, 30 motorway.

SUPERB RX400h

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

My car was 1 of the very first to come into the UK. It is extremely comfortable, brilliant tow car, reliable with superb power when needed. Main Dealer service is low cost compared to similar SUVs. Odometer now shows 155,000 miles.

Majestic to drive with a magic carpet ride.

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

After owning over 30 cars, including several new, this is by far my favourite. Even after two years of ownership I always look forward to driving it and despite its age, it makes me feel special. Ok, round town it only achieves around 20mpg, but the sheer driving pleasure is worth the extra cost. The interior is a lovely place to be and almost silent on the motorway. Mine recently averaged 37mpg on a 700 mile round trip to Scotland so I'm really happy with it. I'd definitely buy another Lexus when the time comes to change.

We love our Lexus

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

My wife and I bought our Lexus On the 10th Of April 2010.We loved ioved it right from day one.Allthough it was second hand it had a full service history. We have kept up with the service history and any little thing that goes wrong we have it done straight away.No major faults so far.Running costs are what one would expect for this type of car.At this moment in time we are looking forward to keeping this car for sometime to come. For those people who are looking to chage their care and can afford it,We would recommend a lexus.

What a car still great after 10+ years.

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

The car has served me excellently for the past 10+ years. In all that time and 115,000+ miles.Apart from tyres, brake pads and other recommended serviceable parts replacements, the running costs are very low. I still have the original battery and exhaust. The reason I have kept it so long is that I can't justify the cost of a new car when this one has served me so well and is still a good now as when I bought it.

Very smooth

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

Car is very reliable and power transfer is very smooth. Loads of space and give great comfort for all passengers. Mpg is very good when compared to many other of similar engine size. Level of equipment is very good but is let down by sat nav limited search and use of cd no way to update via the Internet. Phone intergration media is very poor but does a job but wish they had built in possible to upgrade . The car otherwise is fantastic and would say best I have owned.

Best car I have ever owned.

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

I have never before been so completely happy with a car. I have had my Lexus RX400h for nearly a year and am still delighted every time I drive. Having previously run Mercedes and a Volvo XC60, my main priority is comfort. The Lexus is miles ahead on almost everything. Comfort and build quality are outstanding. It is lovely to drive - beautifully smooth and quiet. I love the hybrid drive and the CVT gearbox. The car does everything seamlessly every time. It inspires confidence, handling all situations on the road perfectly. The dealer is brilliant and I do appreciate the monthly payment scheme covering servicing - which is sensibly priced for a main dealership. The car is still like new but is in fact 8 years old. These cars do not seem to age - a modern classic. I think I like the older 400h model better than the newer 450h, having got used to the slightly retro styling. Special mention must go to the sublime quality of the stereo. The Mark Levinson audio system on my car is the best sound I, and all my friends, have ever heard inside a car. The only slight quibble I could find is the rain-sensing wiper system. It is hard to adjust and does not work as well as other cars. This could just be my car though. Motoring journalists always comment adversely on the steering and ride quality. I can see what they are getting at. At first I did find that the steering was easily affected by bumps on the road. It does not seem to have quite enough inertia. After a couple of weeks I no longer noticed. Ride quality though is excellent.

Love that car!

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

I bought my RX400H from Lexus Milton Keynes about 4 years ago, when it was 6 years old and had done 56k miles. It really looked and drove like new and hopefully, 4 years later, it still pretty much does. I bought it with a 2 year Lexus extended warranty which I have renewed twice. The car has now covered approx 96k miles and is still running beautifully. If I have a criticism its that: a. the steering lock could be better and b. the reversing light is not much use. I regularly get approx 28-30 mpg (more on a run) and it is a totally effortless car to drive on a motorway, that 3.3 litre engine plus 2 electric motors giving more than enough grunt for my purposes. I regularly tell friends how much I love the car and two have gone out and bought Lexus cars on my recommendation. I've never intentionally run a car as long as 90+k miles and its a testimony to the car that I can't find anything I want to buy to replace it with. I'm not keen on any of the newer Lexus 4x4 options and no one else offers the size, power and comfort at such a reasonable price.

Nearly perfect!

LEXUS RX ESTATE 2003-2009

My Lexus is parked under carport, closed on front of the car. I thing that hurt me is the buzzer that sound loudly and continuously until I remove the key from the ignition. Why it don't stop when I move the lever to a parking position? I have the car just for a few months so, I do not have other criticisms to make for now.
