Good quality car at a reasonable price

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

I have had m Auris 1.33 for almost a year now, having bought it second hand from Toyota Cardiff. It does everything I want it to do, which is basically to get me from A to B and back again without any dramas. OK it could be a bit more powerful but it keeps up on the motorway and averages about 45 to the gallon with mixed driving which includes driving in town as well as the motorways. If I had one criticism, it is the rattle that exists from somewhere around the passenger glovebox. It's been in to Toyota and they thought it had been fixed, but it still rattles from time to time. It in no way spoils my driving enjoyment however. Furthermore, I find the Auris a very comfortable car to drive. I have driven it to North Wales from South Wales and arrived a lot fresher than I would have done in some other cars. Overall, I am very happy with the Auris, and I hope it provides me with a few more happy years of motoring to come. When it gets time to change it, I will definitely consider buying another.

Best Car I have ever owned

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

I am a disabled man who needs an automatic transmission. The CVT box in my Auris is awesome and much smoother than the previous 4 speed auto boxes I have had. Mpg is just under 50, almost double my other cars. My mileage is predominantly in town. Boot space is not triffic but is adequate for me.

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

Easy to live with and very cheap to run. Not very spacious partly due to the location of the traction battery. In terms of reliability it is too soon to offer a fair report. ... So far, so good!. Build quality is fine - as you'd expect from Toyota. Gentle, controllable understeer in fast cornering and decently quick when you choose to plant your right foot. It is quiet, refined and very frugal when driven gently. 70 plus mpg is certainly possible but 60 mpg is more realistic (£35.00 of unleaded = roughly 450-500 miles @ £1.00 per litre). Careful driving is encouraged.

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

Very reliable and well built. 1.33 requires frequent gear changes in order to maintain momentum on inclines and minor roads. Good motorway car. Easy to obtain comfortable seating position. Nothing other than serviceable items replaced.

An Auris for pleasure

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

A good quiet comfortable car that is very good to drive and economical both on fuel and zero VED. Servicing at my Toyota garage is very good and hassle free. Only negatives are the low profile tyres which give a harder ride and make it very easy to damage the alloy wheels, so opt for other wheels and tyres. The reversing sensors are handy but too quiet and the reversing camera is very useful in most situations. The instrumentation make it easy to get the best economy, and why would one pay extra for a Hybrid and then drive it like a maniac. Average fuel consumption in 19 months is 58.5mpg, better in summer than winter. A good car, would have another when the time comes for a change but that is likely to be some years yet.

Auris hybrid

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

this car is not for everyone, it is a "different" drive, it is all about economy if you drive it normally it gives you excellent fuel consumption, keep it in eco mode and drive it i assume" normally" it is so quiet and is brilliant but don't be fooled put your foot down and it is a very nippy car, okay it does get a little bit noisy when you do floor it but is'nt that normal ??, i think it's ok. my only down side with this model is the boot space otherwise i think the car is brilliant. My first hybrid, it won't be my last.

brilliant hybrid

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

It nicely goes over bumps and can quickly accelerate if you want it to. its a very quiet car but revs high going up hill but quickly quietens after the climb.very roomy but boot is a bit small. Some racers want to overtake you when they see the hybrid writing but u can surprise them if u want to. It does what you want it do.I would 100% recommend this car to any one. I don't think I would go back to a non hybrid car again. You have both worlds in this hybrid.

very good car

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

its a fantastic little run around in town, the more you sit in traffic the more mpg you get from the car. the only draw back is the boot. as the battery sits in the boot this eats up alot of space. the new Auris i understand has a full sized boot. this was my great free congestion zone car until they decided to lower the emissions in the zone, so hopefully Toyota will bring a car that will be congestionzone friendly. great little car, that a family of 4 can sit in comfortably and hasnt had any nightmares with the car. ] touch wood, more years of hassle free motoring

Awesome

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

Do it! I had driven the Prius and liked it a lot, though I am not a fan of larger cars so when I saw the Auris Hybrid 2nd hand from the dealer I placed a bid, although my bid wasn't accepted in all honesty I didn't care. The car drives so easily, what is more the cost of driving is not just happiness in knowing that Road Tax is £0.00 but when you fill up you know you can drive on that full tank 500 miles. With practice in driving, as this is a totally different way to drive, you can obtain 70 Mpg in town as well as 70 Mpg on major roads. The sound system that comes with the car as standard has 13 speakers, listening to the radio/ CD player or as I have in my car Bluetooth to my MP4 player truly sounds amazing. The only downsides I can think of about this car are, there is a tiny window by the drivers/ passenger door that does give you a blind spot. The BIGGEST downside is the main battery, as this does have to be changed at some point (thankfully I haven't got there yet, phew) with quite a hefty price to it £700 - 1000. With that in mind would I recommend this car? .............. A resounding 100% YES and I have to many of my friends and colleagues.

Auris 1.6 petrol facelift version

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

It's been an easy car to live with, no vices, very reliable, the cruise control is great on long journeys, arriving at the destination much more refreshed. One thing though I wish they'd had a sport version, with harder suspension and a little more power. Small technical gripe is the rear discs wear very quickly and the Auris is rear brake biased why the most effective brakes are at the front? Regards the media hyping of the quality alerts which are mainly US derivitives. I think that's more of a anti Japanese thing by the Americans and nothing to do with quality. US cars have had far more issues than any European or Asian vehicle manufacturer over the years and still have. look at the new icar system that's been hacked into already. My last two gripes really is a range, not model thing, which is the newer versions have become very green and asthmatic! And on all the models the anti lock brakes are too sensitive.

Best car I have owned so far

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

The Auris TR is a car that does what it says on the tin. No nonsense, no gimmicks but has enough technology to keep you happy. The Engine is quiet and economical in lower revs but has enough power in the higher revs to get you out of a sticky situation. Breaks efficiently enough and has a comfortable ride, however if you prefer a bit more feedback from the wheel, maybe the SR model is the one for you.

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

I knew I would buy an Auris after having one on hire for a week, Let's get this right, No road Tax, that saved me over £220 a year, Same cost insurance as my old car and saves me over £100 a month on petrol, the interior is also excellent and roomy, the bumpers are flimsy and I occasionally scraped the chrome wheels within the first few weeks. I would buy another one, it has Bluetooth and loads of other gadgets like satnav to keep me happy, thank you Toyota an excellent car x

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

This car is a great family car. And is pleasantly fast enough with 138 bhp. Toyota is known for reliability and it's been very true in my case. Can't wait to buy the newer version!

My overall review

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

Very reliable car, never had no issues, good strong engines with abit of poke Exterior build quality is ok with extras on the SR models like tinted windows, rear spoiler and 17" alloys as standard, however the interior quality is fair, It has comfortable seats with black cloth and orange stitching (SR models), has x2 cup holders at the front and x2 in the rear on the retractable center arm rest, interior is well lit in dark with front and rear curtesy lights aswell as a light in both front vanity mirrors, the center console is a tad cheap looking with creaky plastics but doesnt look too bad if give a coat of paint over the standard silver, has dual climate control air conditioning as standard with a good stereo system (DAB/Satnav, jbl speakers all optional extras), reasonable boot space, all chairs adjustable. Drive of the car is exceptional, comfortable and reliable. Parts from toyota can be costly so i try and find alternatives on ebay and amazon.

My first hybrid.

TOYOTA AURIS HATCHBACK 2010-2012

Standing outside the car, you could mistake it for a standard petrol car. Inside it has the same Prius style mode selector, but with a normal handbrake. Driving is like an ordinary automatic, with a electric motor which is nearly silent. It is easy to get good fuel economy, there is enough room in the cabin. Being the first version, the boot space is limited. Like all Toyota's, never let me down. I like the way the reversing camera is displayed in the rear view mirror. The only wish would have been the automatic folding mirrors.
