AN ENGINEERING TRIUMPH

LEXUS LS SALOON 1995-2003

I own two 1995 LS 400's. One has travelled 230,000 miles, the other, 105,000 miles. Neither has required major repairs and both perform impressively well. Indeed, especially in the case of the less travelled specimen, there has been practically no change in the overall feel of the cars since they were originally purchased. Most new vehicles, even from the grand marques, feel rough in comparison. LS 400's from this period are well recognised for their engineering excellence. They can be had for ridiculously little money now - nearly 100th of the original purchase price- and must be considered as remarkable bargains. Of course, fuel costs are not inconsiderable and average fuel consumption is about 23 mpg.

Luxury driving

LEXUS LS SALOON 1995-2003

Was looking for a nice comfy car to enjoy and tried the usual BMW 7 series and the older style Jag but was really impressed with the Lexus and definitely smile every time I go for a drive! Expensive to run and parts not as easy to come by as mainstream marques but peerless in quality!

2001 LS 430

LEXUS LS SALOON 1995-2003

This is my second 430 and I'm upgrading to a later model in a couple of weeks A 2006. If you want luxury on a budget then this is the one admittedly you don't get small car mileage but I've had LPG fitted to mine so now I virtually do . At the end of the day I can't think of another 15 year old car that would still drive as nice and still be reliable as the lexus.

best car ever.

LEXUS LS SALOON 1995-2003

In have owned this car for ten years. I searched high and low for a pristine model with history. My intention was to secure a high spec ls 400 mk4 that would last me for life. My car although 17 years old now, was so far ahead of it,s time it is not much behind the new technology. people often think the car is only 2 /3 years old, interior immaculate everything works and looks as new.Low mileage, full service history always garaged no expense spared. Has been more reliable than any luxury car of many top names i have owned, and much cheaper to run. Jag v12 11mpg town/ run 13mpg lexus 24mpg town /run35mpg. My car could be available for inspection any time, you would not believe the condition without seeing it. I am sure at low cost this car can outlive me. thank you lexus. It looks like I have achieved my purpose in finding a car that will realise my driving requirements for the rest of my life

The Lexus Driver

THE AMAZING LEXUS LS43O

LEXUS LS SALOON 1995-2003

The Ls 430 is, in my opinion, the best car ever made. Elegance, power and poise all come as standard with this model. Its silky smooth performance even at motorway speeds is astounding. Virtually silent it is sure to cure any insomniac! Leather is certainly not in short supply. All the seats are ventilated and the front ones are heated and cooled. Reclining and massaging rear seats eat up the hours of long distance trips and the optional Mark Levinson audio system is breathtaking. At the flick of a switch(or two) the Lexus turns itself into a sports car in seconds due to its optional sport and power modes. So when the mood arises you can simply hit those buttons on the centre console and be whisked away into the horizon. Aesthetically the front end is considered over the top by some people, but I think that it simply adds to its luxurious stance. If you have ever seen an LS430 approaching from ahead, it is quite a sight. Its front end and traditional shape make it appear to glide almost silently along as it whispers down the road. Running costs aren't that cheap, though for this big car they aren't bad. Some people decide to have the LS430 converted to LPG making it cheaper to run than a diesel. If you want a luxury car from the early 2000's then look no further. The LS430 will never leave you stranded at the roadside. Toyota's bulletproof V8 engine is more intelligent than a human being. The VVT(variable valve timing) has all the gear changes and under the bonnet adjustments worked out milliseconds before you put your foot down, and when you do you will be in the next county before you can say "Lexus"!

1998 LEXUS LS400

LEXUS LS SALOON 1995-2003

Well built with quite a few nice little additions that add to comfort and drivability. There are a few mechanical issues that cost far more to repair on this car than on any other car that I have owned. I would buy another new one but I would have a used one checked by a mechanic before purchasing it.

Once driven you will never go back

LEXUS LS SALOON 1995-2003

I was bitten by the lexus bug when I borrowed an ls400 and I decided to step up to the later model ls430. She is fantastic on long runs and I average 32 mpg on the motorway. I do regular trips to Devon from Worcester and the car has not once let me down. She has just hit 130,000 miles and still purrs like a new car. Everything works perfectly on the car except for the speakers on the sound system so if buying one I recommend you test the speakers by turning up the bass and making sure none are blown. This is quite common with these cars. Also the electronic adjustable steering is prone to failure. These are only minor things are the car itself glides around the roads gracefully.

My other car is actually a Lexus

LEXUS LS SALOON 1995-2003

The car offers incredible comfort, in spite of it not being given sufficient credit by European car reviewers; the cockpit is well laid to assist with clarity of view and road usage. Running costs are high and worsen if one is an erratic driver, nonetheless the car when properly serviced yields incredible benefits to the driver.

my love of the ls430

LEXUS LS SALOON 1995-2003

hi i am 73 and ten years ago i thought the e.38 7 series bmw was the best car ever , but the dealers were snobby ,so a friend of mine said why not try a lexus ..a ls400 so i did , and from that model went up to the ls430, yes the ls430 have a few problems..ie cd player does not work , white patches on the side windows , the steering wheel does not all ways go up and down , so after about 5 ls430s i have at last found the one that i like the best , its a 2002.is a standard model , ie no air sus , which is great ,less to go wrong , for £3k this is the best value i man or gal can get , i am not a rich man , but the ls430 makes you feel you are on cloud nine ..cheers william barry sansome i live in bolton and do weddings with this car at £99.00 all in see me on facebook
