Unbeatable reliability

SUBARU IMPREZA SPORTWAGON 2003-2005

This is my fourth Subaru. I can honestly say that, other than routine servicing, replacement tyres and a single number-plate light, I have never had anything go wrong with any of them in all these 28 years! My current car doesn't do the miles it used to, but it is a sheer joy to drive. As a musician (keyboard player) I can carry a big stage-piano plus loads of amplification equipment with ease, but what a pity that Subaru has discontinued the five-door body shape. My current scoobie may not be the most refined car in terms of comfort and silence, but I know that I will never fail to experience the great pleasure I get when driving it. I get an average of 30 mpg by driving conservatively (although that can be reduced substantially with very little effort!), but the reassurance and sheer joy of knowing that it will push you back in your seat when you need it is very satisfying, plus the knowledge that it will grip the road when pushed. I am a very happy owner and, although my age will eventually require that I buy something more befitting it (I will soon be eligible for a free TV licence), I dread the day when I no longer feel that I can enjoy the sheer driving pleasure I get from my WRX. I also think that the 2003 model is the best-looking of them all, but I may be biased here.

SUBARU IMPREZA SPORTWAGON 2003-2005

Thoroughly recommend this model. I've had this one for 5 years now, it was my first Subaru. I've carried out some subtle mods, it's very usable and very quick. Fuel consumption is around 26-28mpg, although a gentle run will get you upto 33mpg!

Can't fault it, does everything it needs to, goes fast, looks great, sounds amazing, can carry my dogs in the boot (and other things) gets me out of our country lane in the snow and most of all makes me smile 😉
