Great family car
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
I have owned my Mk2 Focus for a few months now. It handles very well and is great fun to drive on a quiet country road. The car is decent in size, with plenty of room inside the cabin. The rear seats have enough leg room for an average built adult and the boot has a lot of space. As it is a 2 litre petrol, it can be quite thirsty. With most of my mileage being within town, the trip computer is claiming between 27 and 29 MPG, however I have been able to increase this at other times to well over 30, even without much motorway driving. However, the engine has plenty of power and pulls very well. The power and torque delivery is very smooth.

Reliable and economical
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
Follows in the footstep of the Escort. Reliable, economical to maintain and run although the 1.4 engine is quit slow. It is very good value for money!

beware the microswitch its costly to replace
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
make sure the keyless entry/locking works OK if not its then £1,200 bill is on its way,the battery drains and flattens, its a well know fault on the early models, I took the car dealer to court and got the cost back, apart from that I`v had no problems apart from replacing the alternator ( think this was due to the constant charging from a battery charger, flipped the "smart charge system) running cost not bad about 30-33 MPG and its an auto, for the money its a good motor, would I buy another Ford? might go back to a VW Golf if I can find a good one then again it might be another Focus.....

Can't go wrong
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
I've had this car just under a year, but I've got the full service history and I know it has never needed any major repairs and I don't think it has ever failed an MOT either. I personally thrash it about a little bit and again, have had no problems thus far. I've got a few rust spots but that is to be expected with slightly older Fords, especially when you live where I do (north of Scotland near the sea). So in terms of reliability, I'd go as far as to say it can't be beat! In terms of performance, there's nothing to complain about. There's generally enough pulling power to overtake safely (though you may need to drop a gear), and it'll cruise on the motorway happily enough. It's a bigger car on the inside than I thought to be honest. Plenty of storage space in the front, 2 cupholders, space for your sunglasses under the console, decent sized glovebox and side pockets, neat little cubby inside the armrest. The back seats are plenty comfortable for 2 passengers, 3 passengers would also be perfectly comfortable but perhaps not on long journeys. The boot is pretty sizeable, easily swallowing the weekly shop. With the rear seats down, I've managed to fit a washing machine, 2 end tables, budgie cage, and various boxes of rubbish, in one trip. Running costs perhaps aren't the best compared to today's brand new cars, but they aren't bad. I'm averaging just less than 40mpg right now with a mix of town and country driving. Drops to more like 30mpg with pure town driving. On a long trip on the open road I can squeeze 50mpg and more out of her.

FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
Fantastic car fits all the kids in but when its not a 5 seater family runaround with great boot space its a pocket rocket so best of both worlds its a little heavy on petrol but only if your putting your foot down if you deive it sensibly can get decent mpg. But if your going to do that buy a standard diesel model. I love this car and i get bored easy

Very fast and responsive however the running costs of this car are phenomenal. Compare it to lobster. Expensive but if you've got taste it's brilliant.

A must car to be driven once in your lifetime.
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
ive owned this car for a year and 3 months as long as it is serviced regular no mechanical problems, the car is coming up 8 years old and it is starting to develop a few faults suspension struts, power steering, but this is understandable taking into account its age,.Driving the car is on par with the r.s. turbo i once owned,a little light on front end steering going round roundabouts, but on the straight it goes like a rocket, handy for overtaking slow moving wagons.

FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
Bought this car due to some kind soul writing off my original (2003) Focus. No sooner had I sat in it and taken it for a test run, I felt that I had owned it for ages. Definitely a good choice!

FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
Great car. Spacious for 5 people, or lots of luggage. Useful when moving house/furniture - I moved a king size bed with mattress and 1 passenger! Every garage has spares as it's a common brand/model. Easy self-maintenance.

FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
This car is absolutely amazing. Best car i have owned. It is rather quick when i want it to be but also very comfy and nice to drive when my mothe is in the car. Pointless asking about mpg as you dont buy a car like this for economy reasons.

Comes Recommeded
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
Spark plug holes fill with water from windscreen washer jets and or core plugs in top of cylinder head, suspension bushes prone to early disintegration, handbrake lever situated in a very odd position. Good comfortable seating suitable for extended journeys. Below average M.P.G. for a car of this size and Road Tax rather high for a 1.6 engine. Compared to my previous car of French origin the Focus is streets ahead.

Ford Focus MkII
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
Well built, holds the road very well, comfortable ride on long journeys. The automatic version does seem to lack acceleration when needed to overtake other vehicles. Two major faults with the MkII model is the ingress of water through the windscreen washer jets, this water falls directly into the spark plug wells and causes extensive corrosion to plugs and the aluminium cylinder head, thus causing much grief in removing spark plugs. Second fault is the car seems to get thro suspension bushes very quickly. Other than these two faults I like the Focus.

Worth Considering
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
Faults include water in spark plug wells caused by the windscreen washer seals leaking and or leaking core plugs. Inferior radio. Genuine Ford spares are exorbitantly priced. Suspension bushes prone to early wear. Instrument panel prone to malfunction. Boot hatch can suffer from water ingress. Good Points: Holds the road well and gives a comfortable ride, air conditioning / heating is superb. Plenty of storage space. Bad Point: The automatic does not return a good MPG

Great Car!
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
Okay I had a few issues when buying this car second hand, Needed new twin cam valve since I had a Ti-VCT engine, and it also resulted in a new cam belt and water pump, plus fuel pump failed but those are the risks when buying 2nd hand cars. All in all its very comfortable, loads of boot space, smooth to drive, just an excellent car as an all rounder really. Ford should congratulate themselves with this car.

Ford Focus
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
The Focus is not the most expensive car in its class to run. It's not the most modern family car on the market, But the Focus can still teach rivals a thing or two. With its large boot and carefully designed cabin, the Focus offers class-leading stowage space and an easy to access luggage area. Five-door models offer more headroom. The car feels very stable on winding roads. Supportive seats, accurate steering and a light gearshift help to ensure that the Focus is an easy car to drive and control. Strong brakes are backed by traction control and electronic stability control, and the car feels very stable on rough, winding roads. A big windscreen means visibility is good. While entry-level 1.4-litre models are a little underpowered, petrol engined cars offer a good blend of performance and economy.

FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
If i was to make a recommendation on buying a ford focus, make sure that you are able to first understand that this is a bigger car than you're average hatchback. and i would also bring a mechanic to check the car with an OBD reader. be careful.

Focus ST 225 - T5
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
It's practical boot space is large enough for family use, and fun when you put your foot down. If your into it plenty of scope for modding for more power better suspension etc. The MPG is not good, but then that's not why you buy a fast Ford 😉 With a reputable upgrade i.e. Mountune or similar the car is a good (faily low budge now as well) street rocket. Had mine for 5 years other than normal wear and tear had no issues. And it's Ford so comparatively low consumable and parts costs. There are know issues such as oil diaphram, boost solenoid but easilly sorted if not already done on your pride and joy. Never selling mine 🙂

Ford Focus 1.6 Petrol Review
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
Hi. Personally, I think that using the car ford focus mk2 is a very good choice. The car works very well. Since I bought car I have no problem. The car has a very good suspension, when I come across an uneven surface, I get the impression that I'm swimming. It is very well made, and there is no comparison with other car brands. I also think that despite the fact that the car does not have a large 1.6 petrol engine, it is very fast.

2ltr Ghia Auto
FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK 2005-2007
I have had 3 focus two 1.6 and now 2ltr the 2ltr is better for auto than 1.6 and the ghia has all the toys Like cruise control however the the 1.6 gets about 48-52 mpg on motorway but 2ltr gets 38-42mpg. The storage is poor and boot space is far better in estate than hatchback. But overall I love my focus and would have no other car
