Never fails to make you smile
JAGUAR XF SALOON 2011-2015
The first thing to say is that if you are looking for an economical car the you wouldn't be looking at a car with a 5.0ltr supercharged petrol engine. That said it will still do 36 to the gallon on the motorway if driven sensibly. The reason for buying this car is the huge smile it puts on your face each time you start it up and the you hear the supercharger whine just before the engine roars into life. Then the kick in the back when you press the accelerator. Everything else is just pure XF excellence, the ride, the comfort and sheer driving pleasure. Having owned and driven most of the cars in the XF and XE class, I will never go back to them, I need to be able to drive 300 miles, do a full day's work and then drive back. Before buying an XF this was a struggle, now it is a pleasure.

Grin factor.
JAGUAR XF SALOON 2011-2015
The main thing to know about owning an XFR is that every time you get in it and drive away, it will be done with a huge childish grin on your face. The sound of the supercharger whining as she turns over makes you wish it was a soft top. You'll be using the paddles to drop it into 1st so you can get the revs up and hear that V8 burble as you drive down the road. If you have owned an XF before then you will know that Jaguar has created the ultimate mix of a luxury ride with handling. The XFR has that plus the ability to firm it up more. Whilst not a typical track day car, it will hold its own and make the German sports car drivers cry on the straights. For commuting, it is the best! Whilst it is not as economical as the diesels in the range, you are not going to buy an XFR for that. It will however easily do 32MPH without having to drive like you have Miss Daisy in the back. The Meridian sound system transports you to the auditorium whilst the 14 point adjustable seats hold and support you in soft supple leather. After 8 months of upgrading to the XFR from a Portfolio 3.0ltr D, I still go for a drive just for the sake of it. It is the ultimate growler!

XF
JAGUAR XF SALOON 2011-2015
It's a good car which could have been upgraded further from the previous version and be upstandard than the BMW 5 series. BMW is going downhill on standard and Jaguar could have captured that segment.

Leather interior
JAGUAR XF SALOON 2011-2015
This car is stunning but pay particular attention to the leather interior top of the doors and dash. Just over three years old and the door cards at the top next to the windows have all deformed. This car was in the £80,000 price bracket new and the interior is not covered by the warranty. Jaguar have been informed i'm told by my jaguar dealership in Kent but i'm not holding my breath. Having said that love this car, drives and sounds awesome, just wish jaguar would restore the doors back to complete her looks.
