SUBARU XV HATCHBACK 2012-onwards

Go for a manual and a diesel. Mine is automatic and petrol. Susceptible to paint chip damage. Apart from this its a great looking car and nice to drive, although the suspension is a bit hard.

SUBARU XV HATCHBACK 2012-onwards

A very good small to medium crossover vehicle. Reliability has been excellent plus excellent local dealership service. Boot space is on the small and it can be tyre noisy on the road. Remember, your personal likes and dislikes of your vehicle remains long after the price is forgotten.

Pound for pound its very good value. its a very safe car and after 3 years of driving still feels new. I am a light driver so achieving around 40MPG has not been difficult. The power in this car is best at high revs, you will need to use the gearbox to achieve fast performance, if that's what you want...it don't bother me. The alloy wheels are amazing, still like new and because of the design don't get any kerb damage. Inside the seat fabric is good and trim materials etc have retained good appearance. It has a permanent 4 wheel drive arrangement that felt weird at first, as if the wheels are playing catch up, or maybe just my impression. Anyway it feels very secure on small track roads with the standard Quality tyres fitted. I towed a 1200kg caravan and to be honest it managed, but a diesel would be better as the petrol does not have the torque. In 3 years of ownership from new there has not been 1 fault. The boot light is useless. road lights are super. heating and AC is great. Radio/entertainment very good with excellent DAB radio.
