TOYOTA AYGO HATCHBACK 2012-2014

Steer clear of this car, 2 years of ownership have been absolute hell, fault after fault with dealerships not being able to fix this car properly

Perfect as a second car

TOYOTA AYGO HATCHBACK 2012-2014

This is my wife's car it's perfect for her use and she loves it. The only negative is she doesn't like the privacy glass and there's a rattle from the driver's door which Toyota say isn't under the 5 year warranty.

Little Gem

TOYOTA AYGO HATCHBACK 2012-2014

My wife drives a DS5 and the Aygo is the perfect second car for us, easily gets four adults inside, great for the weekly shop or nipping into town where parking can be tight. It is not really a long distance cruiser but it will happily sit on the motorway at seventy although long hills sometimes require dropping from fifth to forth and sound can be an issue.

Reliable little car

TOYOTA AYGO HATCHBACK 2012-2014

The AYGO is a great car for the price, the running costs are low. £0 road tax and I only put £35 of petrol in per month. The car is very small and easy to park, surprisingly roomy in the front if you can slide the seats back. For a car with such a small engine, it's quite nippy and fun to drive, very responsive steering. I did notice after a couple of months that there are creaks in the dashboard, this would be expected on such a cheap / entry level car though. I didn't have any crippling mechanical issues, however at my MOT, it passed but with an advisory on both front discs / pads.

Fun little car

TOYOTA AYGO HATCHBACK 2012-2014

Fantastic little car, cheap and cheerful, much easier to park than my previous car (Audi A6 Avant) and more fun to drive. Handles a bit like the original mini and quite pokey up to 50 mph then peters off a bit. You will encounter car bullying by BMW and AUDI drivers as well as van drivers as they will expect a little old lady to be at the wheel. It's worth it though for the look on their faces when the y pull up alongside. A week's shopping fits in but you need the 5 door as back seat and footwells required. I love it but daughter calls it my Lego car so be prepared for flack from all and sundry.

Worn clutch at 15,000 miles

TOYOTA AYGO HATCHBACK 2012-2014

Clutch worn out at 15,000 miles , have been driving new cars and keeping them for 3 yrs for past 20 years then changed for new one, never had any problems with clutch and haven't driven this one any differently. Toyota won't cover with 5 yr warranty or make any goodwill gesture towards £600 garage bill. Feeling very unhappy with their decision and going to take complaint further.

Aygo

TOYOTA AYGO HATCHBACK 2012-2014

I'm happy owner of this car for almost 2 years. I'm 6.3" and I was really worried about sitting space however I found this car very comfortable and very reliable ! Infact I want twice to Germany! There are few things that have to be highlighted especially for people with "heavy foot". Clutch disk is very small I think 220mm therefore I had to replace my clutch already at 33k miles ! Total cost around £250 parts and labour. I spoke to few mechanics and they all told me the same thing that Toyota for some reason fitted really small clutch which doesn't last really long. Also gearbox feels rather "cheap" when changing the gears and reverse gear doesn't always pop in as it should. I tend to get 330-350 miles with my full tank which is very good considering that I spend around £40 to fill it up.
