Tyres can be a problem.

JAGUAR XF DIESEL SPORTBRAKE 2012-2015

Fantastic car, the best car I have ever had, but the Sat Nav is not its best point. I now have had 6 new tyres under warranty. There seems to be a problem with the Dunlop tyres provided with the new car. Front tyres replaced under warranty at first service and 4 replaced at the second service. Marshall's Jaguar Peterborough have been excellent and never a question about me paying. I have seen other not so lucky owner comments on the Internet. If you are buying second hand ask to check the inside walls of the tyres. According to Marshall's, Dunlop has admitted there was a problem with certain dates. The latest tyres were outside these dates. I have Nokian winter tyres so the Dunlop tyres have not done the total mileage that the car has done, 25K miles. The main miles on the summer tyres are at around 80mph on continental motorways.

Class motor but......

JAGUAR XF DIESEL SPORTBRAKE 2012-2015

One and only one problem with this car which Jaguar, and its dealerships, refuse to recognise - there is a definite power lag when pulling away from a standing (or nearly standing) start. This can be potentially dangerous when pulling out into gaps in free moving traffic at t-junctions and roundabouts.

It's a pleasure to get into the car and drive, short or long distance no problem. The only thing I'd like is a little more thigh support from the seats

Brilliant Car Shame about the In Handsfree and Satnav.

JAGUAR XF DIESEL SPORTBRAKE 2012-2015

The XF Sportbrake is a quite comfortable and refined motor car. It's a nice place to be and definitely is a drivers car. The V6 diesel is a powerful and responsive engine. I moved from a Sporty Hatchback to the XF and although my new transport produces more power and outperforms my previous car I find I am no longer interested in driving fast all the time. I am mostly happy to cruise along in a unhurried manner enjoying being cosseted in my comfortable cotpit. Despite the criticism by some of this car being spaced compromised I do not find it a problem. I play keyboards in a band and have to transport a lot of kit to gigs. My keyboards in flightcase used to be difficult to load into my hatchback, but the flat loading platform of the Sportbrake such swallows all of my kit with ease. My only complaint so far is connected to the touchscreen system which is used for the radio, Satnav, and phone Handsfree. The system is slow and somewhat cumbersome. The Satnav is poor compared with a TomTom. Accurate destination are difficult to enter as it doesn't accept a full postcode. By far the worst feature though is the phone Handsfree which isn't a patch on the VW system I had before. It doesn't have a quick dial facility for regularly used numbers, and finding numbers to dial via the address book is slow job which entails typing the name of the person you want to call using the onscreen keyboard. The is distracting and best avoided. I tend to use the recent dialled or received numbers list for frequent called numbers and Siri on my iPhone for everything else.

Dream car let down by Jaguar known engine "foible"

JAGUAR XF DIESEL SPORTBRAKE 2012-2015

Don't buy this engine! Car performs really well for 99% of the time but has a potentially disasterous extreme "turbo lag" type of delay when pulling off from roundabouts and junctions. I am used to diesel turbo lag but this is in another league! Jag are aware of this but won't accept responsibility as they say that it's just a "characteristic" of the engine. The 3 Litre twin turbo is the one to go for.

JAGUAR XF DIESEL SPORTBRAKE 2012-2015

When it works it's as good as any car I've driven. Smooth ride, powerful and has that "something" that other cars don't have. Saying that, I've had a lot issues. The alternator went when I was in the overtaking lane on the M1, loss of pretty much all power systems and had no warnings???????. The motor for the water jets packed it in and need to be replaced, Countless times I get ghost sensor reading. The car has cause me a lot of hassle but I love it at the same time!!!

The Curate's Egg....

JAGUAR XF DIESEL SPORTBRAKE 2012-2015

Generally great to drive. Only problem is slight turbo lag when pulling out of junctions. Very comfortable and practical and looks drop dead gorgeous! Fuel consumption is not as good as hoped for. Fine on a run but suffers badly on short journeys and when the weather is cold. Major complaint is cost of parts and labour if any work is required. Mirror glass (just the glass!) on drivers side wing mirror costs nearly £160! How can that be justified?! Labour at £160 per hour! Otherwise it's a marvelous car. Not sure if I'd recommend it mainly because of running costs. I've replied "NO" to recommend below but would recommend so long as you are prepared to pay the running costs.

JAGUAR XF DIESEL SPORTBRAKE 2012-2015

The most cavernous estate I've ever had, very comfortable drive, the sat nav has some weird ideas of routes though. The light wooden interior trim gives it the wow factor for me......a real shame they don't use it on the next generation XF. I've had it two years now, well chuffed.

JAGUAR XF DIESEL SPORTBRAKE 2012-2015

This is my 2nd Jag after owning an x-type, i really cant fault anything with my XF. Its so easy to drive, so comfortable and literally doesnt cost me a penny to run. We have only had this car for 4 weeks but we were glad that we chose her. My mrs has already name it. And has fallen in love, she prefers the car more than me now.
