Loads of gadgets - big and comfortable
FORD MONDEO ESTATE 2014-onwards
The petrol engine is thirsty - 30 mpg would be pretty good. If you do enough miles (I don't) the diesel is really good. Parking sensors and rear camera is essential if you don't want to scratch it. Park assist works once you get the hang of it. The touch screen is not very sensitive and trying to use it for routing on the satnav is frustrating - easier to key in any waypoints. The Ford warranty with AA and a replacement car is first class. I used it on my previous car for a 100 mile recovery after a dud starter motor stranded me.

A Big Estate with Lots of Goodies
FORD MONDEO ESTATE 2014-onwards
If you want a big estate car that drives like a sports car, with the comfort of a high end saloon; this is the car for you. So long as you are either not doing a big mileage, or someone else is paying for the petrol.

High Ratings are Well Deserved
FORD MONDEO ESTATE 2014-onwards
This is the third Mondeo Estate we have owned - we need an estate to get my wife's electric wheelchair in the back. The first was a V6 and I wish they still made one, however the 2.0 straight 4 still goes like **** of a shovel. We then bought a 14 plate (actually a 12 model) which was fine, except that the seats were not power adjustable which was a problem for my wife who is much shorter than me I would have given it more stars but for the silly moon roof. Why we need this when we have air con beats me, and it seriously reduces the loading height at the tailgate. With so many 'gadgets' I do worry what will happen as the car gets older - I plan to keep it for a long time. The power operated tailgate is a boon and having a memory for seat settings is a real benefit. The auto parking does work, but with a chair to offload, or shopping to load, I usually drive forward into spaces, so haven't used it much (or at all really). A car this big really benefits from proximity sensors and the camera at the rear while parking. If you need a large estate and fuel costs are not a prime concern, I would highly recommend this one.
