Best Car I've owned

JAGUAR XE DIESEL SALOON 2015-onwards

Only issues are rear leg room and boot space. Otherwise, fast , economical, comfortable, can put on a turn of pace when needed. 74 mpg at 70 on long journeys , 50's easily achievable daily.

jaguar xe prestige with loads of extas

JAGUAR XE DIESEL SALOON 2015-onwards

although it appears to be same shape and size as xf , my previous car, it is smaller slightly less room in cockpit, but boy does it drive well much better than the xf. 50plus around town and with reasonable driving at motorway speed close to 60 mpg. remarkable for a car which is still a fair size. and still the only one in the golf club car park! Would i recommend it so far a resounding yes

Why buy German?!

JAGUAR XE DIESEL SALOON 2015-onwards

Overall extremely great, but I'll break down the ratings above to be more specific: Practicality: Not the best, but still very good for its class. Boot space for me is more than enough. I even managed to get about 20 packs of six 1.5l water bottles in there with minimal effort (other than the lifting!). The suspension took it really well with not too much squatting. Rear seat space is great for anyone under 5ft 8 really. anyone slightly taller will find it hard to sit behind me when I drive as I push the seat quite far back. That really is my only gripe about an otherwise really well thought out interior. Reliability: Touch wood good so far! Have only had it for about a month now but nothing to report on that front! Build Quality: I don't know about you, but one of the most satisfying things about any car is how the door shuts when you get in! Well this makes that perfect sound which just oozes quality! everything inside feels good, and looks very premium. the leather on the wheel is very good and the buttons on the dash have a good feel to them as well. there are some less than premium plastics dotted around but really not noticeable when inside as the whole package looks and feels the part. Exterior panels fit and look good and the whole car sits very nicely. How it drives: BMW ultimate driving machine?? Not anymore! This drives and handles better than any other car I've sat in or driven. For something this size, the poise and delicacy with which it moves is sublime. the ride is supple and soaks up the harshest of bumps and my chronic back has been cured because of this! This may sound exaggerated but I assure you it isn't! By far, the best ride quality in its class in my opinion. Running Costs: Firstly its only £20 to tax for the year! From a big 2.0 turbo diesel! And if you go for the manual its free! My route to work is quite an uneconomical route and I'm stuck in stop start traffic for half of it but it still averages around 45mpg, which is still good, but it does mean that I'm filling up every two weeks. The times where I've gone on the faster routes has increased it to around 55mpg which is again excellent for such a big engine. Overall: I really can't sing its praises enough. It's my first Jag and I really can't understand why people go for a more generic option like the germans when you get similar quality but with tons more character! if you like to stand out then I would definitely recommend that you think about this as a serious option.

ad blue

JAGUAR XE DIESEL SALOON 2015-onwards

When I purchased the car in March I was told that ad blue would only need topping up every 7-8,000 miles, it turns out to be every 2,000 miles or less. I am fed up seeing the ad blue warning on my dashboard. I love the car but this is driving me up the wall and the garage are unable to help.

Great looking car!

JAGUAR XE DIESEL SALOON 2015-onwards

Ian Callum certainly knows how to design an eye-catching car and the XE is no exception. It is just gorgeous to look at from every angle and you can see that it is a Jaguar through and through. It's also very dynamic to drive. The handling feels assured and like all Jaguars, it can roar when the fancy takes you. However, this car is not perfect. There's a lack of legroom for the rear passengers, the boot is quite shallow and there's not much storage space inside the cabin. For my liking, there seems to be too much intrusion into the cabin from road and wind noise and not what you would expect from a Jaguar. At least it drives great though, but the gearbox can hesitate momentarily sometimes when accelerating out of a 30mph zone, as though it can't make up it's mind what gear you need to be in. Needless to say, if you're cruising down a motorway or having a blast down a country A road, this car is just a joy to drive.
